On the occasion of International Women’s Day in March, 2009, Aks provided training to the employees of DDA Group of Companies, Pune on ‘Preventing Workplace Violence and Sexual Harassment’. The training was well received and was followed by an active discussion and Question-Answer Session.

Aks conducted a “Dealing with Grief” Workshop in March, 2009 for individuals interested in the topic to help them understand concepts of death, dying and dealing with grief and loss in their personal life.

Barkha, the lead trainer of Aks conducted training for the employees of Accenture, Pune. The topics covered were ‘Stress Management’ and ‘Maintaining Positive Mental Health’. Around 50 employees participated in the training and the response was extremely positive.

A Four Session Training Workshop was conducted for Professional Counselors on ‘Working with Grief” in January, 2009. The workshop was aimed at providing comprehensive training on working with the complicated issue of Grief. Modules focused on understanding grief and loss, practical case examples were be shared and the sessions concentrated on helping professionals feel proficient in handling issues related to grief, loss, death and dying.

A Certificate course on ‘Evolving as a Therapist’ for Students of Psychology was held by Aks. The training focused on helping students understand the process of counseling and teach them basic tenets of therapy. The workshop covered modules on theories of counseling, basic listening skills, understanding and using affect in session. 3 students graduated from the course in Feb, 2009.

Aks conducted workshops for boys and girls of the 5th, 6th and 7th Grade of Mahesh Vidyalaya on 'Body Image'. The workshops comprised of interactive activities and video clips to help children understand their bodies better and learn to appreciate their own body shape and size
